Six-time Pro Bowl defensive back Jim David has died after battling a lengthy illness. David was a key player on three Detroit Lions title teams in the 1950s. His 36 interceptions ranks fifth-best in franchise history. David also spent six seasons as an assistant under head coach Joe Schmidt.
