The Lions defeated the Minnesota Vikings 20-17 in overtime to win their home opener at Ford Field.  Quarterback Jon Kitna suffered a concussion in the second quarter and left the game, but returned in the fourth quarter and led the game-winning drive in overtime, capped by Jason Hanson’s 37-yard field goal.  Detroit snapped a 10-game losing streak against Minnesota and improved to 2-and-0 on the season.
