If you are in the market for a new football helmet for yourself or for the football player in your family, then the Schutt ION 4D should be at the top of your list. Already used by numerous players around the NFL, the helmet is designed with safety and comfort at the top of the list. The helmet has on it is a faceguard that is actually on the helmet shell, not attached to it. The faceguard includes shock absorbing “Energy Wedges” that are designed to take away the force of hard hits to the faceguard. The Schutt ION 4D model is stronger than other faceguards and will last longer than older versions of current faceguards.

The Schutt ION 4D helmet boasts a great new type of cushioning material known as SKYDEX. The SKYDEX padding in the helmet is better than traditional padding that tends to wear down after lots of use. Then there is SKYDEX2, another type of padding that the helmet can use that also is better than traditional foam in other helmets. A final aspect of the Schutt ION 4D that cannot be overlooked is the comfort. The helmet is easy to wear and is fits right after it comes out of the box, meaning you do not have to break the helmet in.
