NFC North rivals will collide on Sunday when the Vikings host the stumbling Lions at the Metrodome. The Lions were in contention for the division crown, but they are now fighting just to make the playoffs after dropping three straight to fall to 6-and-5. Detroit fell to the division-leading Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day. Jon Kitna completed just 19-of-40 passes for 224 yards with a touchdown and a pick for the Lions. The Vikings come into the contest at 5-and-6. Minnesota’s defense returned three interceptions for touchdowns in last week’s 41-17 rout of the New York Giants. Rookie sensation Adrian Peterson missed his second straight game with a knee injury, but he is hopeful he will be ready to go this week. The Lions beat the Vikings 20-17 in Week Two.
