The Lions were in contention for the division crown, but they are now fighting just to make the playoffs after dropping three straight to fall to 6-and-5. Detroit fell to the division-leading Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day. Jon Kitna completed just 19-of-40 passes for 224 yards with a touchdown and a pick for the Lions. The Vikings come into the contest at 5-and-6. Minnesota’s defense returned three interceptions for touchdowns in last week’s 41-17 rout of the New York Giants. Rookie sensation Adrian Peterson missed his second straight game with a knee injury, but he is hopeful he will be ready to go this week. The Lions beat the Vikings 20-17 in Week Two.
