Will He or Won’t He? – Reports Back and Forth on Bryant Retiring

As far as retiring goes, not so fast, says Lions corner Fernando Bryant.  The Lions corner is talking after a report came out stating that he was going to retire.  The report that appeared Saturday on MLive.com said that Bryant refused to go on IR this past season despite suffering a severe ankle injury vs the Cardinals.  “I am not retiring,” Bryant said in the Free Press. “I’ll be playing somewhere next year — hopefully in Detroit, but I don’t know.”  Bryant said he would not be shocked to see the Lions go in a different direction as far as the corner spot in concerned in 2008, as he says he feels the team might try and re-sign corners Keith Smith and Travis Fisher and get younger at that spot. Bryant still has two years left on his deal, and according to him he has not told anyone on the Lions of any intention of retiring.
