Gash Hired As RB Coach

The Detroit Lions announced on Thursday that Sam Gash has been hired as the team’s running back coach; Gash was the team’s assistant special teams coach in 2007. He will replace Wilbert Montgomery, who departed to become the running backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens. Before coming to the Lions, Gash was the New York Jets’ assistant running backs coach and assistant special teams coach in 2005-06. During a 12-year career as a fullback, Gash went to 2 Pro Bowls.
