Lions Release Veteran Corner Fernando Bryant

Bryant

Going back a few weeks you could see the writing on the wall about this one – as earlier today the Lions released veteran cornerback Fernando Bryant.  He had played the last four seasons with the Lions after starting and playing the first five seasons in Jacksonville.  Last season Bryant led the Lions with 13 breakups last season, but was unhappy with the team and with rumors that he was going to retire.  Bryant will be 30 this season, but has gas in the tank and should be able to catch on with another team should he want to keep playing, which he says he does.  As for the Lions, the team is down to one corner right now with both Travis Fisher and Keith Smith unsigned.
