Lions Sign Kelly

                               Detroit Lions cornerback Brian Kelly

The Detroit Lions gained a valuable player for their secondary as NFL Network reports that cornerback Brian Kelly has been signed by the team to a three-year contract; Kelly and coach Rod Marinelli have a working relationship, so Detroit got a good acquisition.  Kelly, prior to the signing, had spent 10 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with 22 career interceptions – including a career high 8 during the team’s Super Bowl-winning season in 2002.  Injuries limited Kelly to 2 games in 2006 and 11 games last season; he was drafted by Tampa Bay in 1998.
