Detroit Lions running back Tatum BellEver since the Detroit Lions lost the bidding war for former Dallas Cowboys running back Julius Jones, they did what any team worth its salt would do, especially knowing that the free agent pool of RB’s is rather thin - re-sign one of their own.  The team, according to John Clayton of ESPN, re-signed RB Tatum Bell to a one-year, $1.6 million contract.

With Kevin Jones fresh off a torn ACL, Bell will be given opportunity to claim the starting RB job; assuming he has a very good statistical year, he can be in line for a big payday.  Bell started 4 games for the Lions in 2007, rushing for 182 yards on 44 carries.
