The Lions made more roster moves, releasing running back Kevin Jones and defensive end Kalimba Edwards. Coach Rod Marinelli said the moves were made to bring clarity to the roster and eliminate some uncertainty heading into the draft. Jones played four years with the Lions but is coming off a second straight injury-shortened season. Edwards, who signed a five-year, $20-million contract in 2006, was inactive for the final four games last season after only recording three sacks and said did not expect to be back with the Lions this year.
