Lions Confirm Contact With Culpepper, Spikes

A couple of veteran NFL free agents are are inquiring about jobs in Detroit. The Lions confirm they recently were visited by linebacker Takeo Spikes and have been contacted by quarterback Daunte Culpepper. Spikes is a ten year veteran who was released by the Eagles in March. Culpepper was not resigned by Oakland after one season with the Raiders. The Lions report to training camp on Wednesday with the first practice set for Thursday morning.

  1. What are the chances of the Lions signing Spikes or Culpepper? I feel that both could play a significant role in helping the Lions get better. Who wouldmake a bigger impact at running back? Jordan, or Davenport? What’s the true story on this Chris Simms thing? Is he really worth it, or will he be yet another so-called “safety net” that will only hold a clipboard?
