Lions Open Preseason vs Giants

The Lions kick off the preseason as they host the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants at Ford Field.  Head coach Rod Marinelli said the starters will not see a lot of playing time, as he expects to use them for only a couple of series.  The Lions also announced linebacker Ernie Sims, defensive tackle Cory Redding, guard Edwin Mulitalo and defensive tackle Langston Moore will not play because of minor injuries.  Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
