QB Stanton Bruises Thumb in Practice

Lions backup QB Drew Stanton bruised his right thumb in practice earlier today, but says he should be able to go against the Browns on Saturday at Ford Field. He told the media that his throwing hand hit the back of a teammate’s shoulder pads, and X-rays of the thumb showed it wasn’t a major injury. His right hand was packed with ice after practice.  He has looked good so far for the Lions, going 7-for-8 in the first two preseason games for 85 yards and a TD.
