Season Over for Kitna; QB Placed on IR

Lions quarterback Jon Kitna’s season is over. The team announced Tuesday it had placed the signal-caller on the injured reserve list due to a back problem. Kitna first suffered the injury in Week Five’s loss to the Chicago Bears, then missed last weekend’s loss to Minnesota. Kitna had started 36 consecutive games for the Lions before the injury. This season for 0-and-5 Detroit, the 36-year-old completed 68-of-120 pass attempts for 758 yards. He has thrown for five touchdowns while being picked off five times.
