Vikings fans likely will be up in arms in response to the news that Lions tackle Gosder Cherilus won’t be fined for his low block on Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen.
Though the move could have seriously injured Allen, it was a clean block. Cherilus was on the ground, and he saw Allen hustling toward the ball. So Cherilus lunged to block him.
Allen is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals, due to the knee injury resulting from the Cherilus hit.
Meanwhile, Vikings defensive tackle Fred Evans was fined $5,000 for grabbing the facemask of Lions running back Kevin Smith.
