Pro Football Weekly says that now that the Lions have given Daunte Culpepper a new deal, that should mean the end for former QB Jon Kitna. Here is the story:
The Lions have reworked QB Daunte Culpeppers’s contract, eliminating a $2.5 million roster bonus he was due at the end of the month. The move puts Culpepper in the mix to be the opening-day starter for the Lions, and it likely signals the end of Jon Kitna’s time in Detroit. Kitna had started two-plus seasons for Detroit but was placed on injured reserve early last year.
