Lions Almost Landed Another Roy Williams

According to a report from Pro Football Weekly, Roy Williams was offered up to the Lions for Jon Kitna. No, not that Roy Williams. The Dallas Cowboys felt that they had one too many Roy’s on their team, and tried to get the Lions to take their Strong Safety off their hands. Wisely, the Lions turned that offer down and went for CB Anthony Henry who is projected to be a starter.

The Cowboys have since dumped Roy and he is free to sign with any team. Speaking of the other Roy, he is now the Boy’s #1 receiver with the recent letting go of Terrell Owens. I’d look for the Cowboys to draft a wide receiver with their top pick in the draft. Too bad it’s not the 20th pick. That one they gave to the Lions for Roy Williams.

Great site… I am shocked the Lions did not make the deal for the “Other” Roy Williams simply for the fact they have tons of Williams #11 jerseys on the racks and they could re-use them… you know they’d make the “other” Roy wear #11 just because of that…
