There’s been plenty of chatter about the Lions having interest in local product Larry Foote, the ILB from the Steelers who has asked the team or his release. John Clayton of ESPN reports that he thinks Foote would be a good fit for a team that needs some playmakers on defense:
With a need for a middle linebacker, the Lions may be willing to take a look at Steelers linebacker Larry Foote, who was informed he was going to be cut or traded. The Lions didn’t fill the middle linebacker position with a proven vet and have been looking. Foote might be the fit.
Foote is expected to be officially released by the Steelers sometime over the next few days before they start their mini-camp.
