Culpepper Will Start; Stafford Will Play in 2nd Quarter Saturday

Daunte Culpepper will start at quarterback in Detroit’s preseason opener against Atlanta on Saturday. Coach Jim Schwartz said Friday that top draft pick Matthew Stafford will enter the game at some point in the second quarter of Saturday’s game in Detroit.

The 32-year-old Culpepper wants to start the season for the Lions, though he knows Stafford is the team’s future. The former Georgia star says he has already learned a lot from his veteran teammate.
