Ex-Lions Lineman Kowalkowski Dies

The Detroit Lions’ lost one of their own on Thursday night as former offensive lineman Bob Kowalkowski died at a suburban Detroit hospital at the age of 65.

Kowalkowski played most of his 11-year career with the Lions after being drafted from the University of Virginia in 1965. He was subsequently traded to the Cleveland Browns in 1977 and ended his career, playing in four games for the Green Bay Packers in ’77.
