Lions Pounded in Green Bay in 26-0 Loss to Packers

The Lions put up quite a fight last week against the Steelers at home, but Sunday in Lambeau Field against the Packers, they looked a lot more like the 0-16 team that wrapped up their winless season in Green Bay. The team was shutout by a tough Packers defense 26-0, and it looks like the offense that almost tied the game late against the Steelers was simply no match for the Pack.
Starting QB Daunte Culpepper was just 6-for-14 for 48 yards with a pick and two sacks. Backup QB Drew Stanton wasn’t much better, going 5-for-11 for 57 yards with two picks and he was sacked three times. Overall the Lions offense didn’t even have the ball much, as they held the ball for just 19:12 to 40:48 for the Packers.
The offense was 0-for-10 on third downs, and had just 10 first downs on the day, this is gaining a total of 149 yards while the defense allowed 435 yards. Green Bay basically put the game away in the first quarter, scoring two times in the first 7:40 to give them a cushy 14-0 lead.
Aaron Rodgers was 29-for-37 for the now 3-2 Packers, throwing for 358 yards with two touchdowns and one pick and a QB rating of 113.7. He was sacked five times, but the Lions simply couldn’t seem to make big plays on him when they had to, and it was a day of backwards progress for the Lions and their club.
Detroit was able to force four field goals after the first two Detroit touchdowns, but no matter, as that was just icing on the cake for the Packers who never gave up more than 45 yards in a drive to the Lions. The Lions 10 drives went like this – three picks, five punts, and two times drives ended in downs. It was that bad.
The Lions are now 1-5, and they will take a week off for the bye before returning to action on November 1st at home against the winless Rams.

Are you Lions fans so jaded with mediocrity that you can’t recognize losers when you see them? Are you willing to settle for the brand of pathetic “football” they marketed today? Today’s game was the poorest display of talent, or total lack thereof, ever assembled on a field – Lambeau or otherwise. Hang your head in shame all you Lions players and supporters for that game was an embarrassment! Rejoice in their one win and ride it out for another miserable season. As for me I will not waste another Sunday watching those “pros” being paid damn well to entertain us. I would be better entertained if they packed up and left our state, permanently. We have enough problems here already!
