Lions Release Marquand Manuel

For the second time in a matter of weeks the Lions have released what was believed to be a candidate for the vacant strong safety position.  The Lions parted ways with Marquand Manuel this morning.  The move is somewhat surprising because the Lions just moved Dante Wesley from cornerback to safety because of the lack of bodies at the position.

Manuel started six games for the Lions last year before winding up on injured reserve.  His release could be a precursor to activating Ko Simpson or Louis Delmas from the PUP list.
