Florida C/G Mike Pouncey, Pittsburgh DE Greg Romeus Visit Lions

University of Florida center/guard Mike Pouncey and University of Pittsburgh defensive end Greg Romeus visited the Detroit Lions on Thursday, the team announced. “I loved the facilities, it’s a nice town and I just love the whole visit, meeting with the coaching staff and everyone,” Pouncey said of his meeting the Lions, who hold the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Pouncey, whose twin brother Maurkice was a Pro Bowler after being selected 18th overall by the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010, is expected to hear his name called in the mid-to-late stage of the first round on April 28. The 6-5, 264-pound Romeus had posted 19.5 quarterback sacks over three seasons and was co-Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 before deciding to remain in school for a final season. Back spasms and a torn ACL limited Romeus to two games as a senior, dropping him from a sure first-round pick to likely going in the middle rounds.
