Live Draft Updates

Check in for my updates as I follow the NFL Draft

The Cardinals are the first team that is expected to take a player that I would have loved to see a Lion, no matter how unrealistic the chances he’d fall to them.  This should be Patrick Peterson.

The first trade at six, probably for a receiver.  This takes away one of the only viable trade scenarios for the Lions at 13.

The 49ers are going to be the second team that I suspect will take a player on my board for the Lions, Prince should be the pick here.

I also would like to opine that Pespi MAX is one of the most horrible things I have ever tasted.

Wow, there goes that.  Aldon Smith goes a little higher than expected, that really flips things here.

And here we go, flipped enough for you?  Locker over Gabbert?  This just helps a player on my board be there for the Lions.

This is a crucial point for the Lions’ draft strategy.  The Cowboys, Texans and Vikings are all in the market for offensive lineman, corners or pass rushers.  In addition, the trade discussions involving Prince could come into play if he falls to the Lions.  Number one player off my board, gone as Smith goes.

Numbers one and two off my board.  Jags trading up to grab either Gabbert or Quinn.

I think the Texans are going to go Quinn or Prince here.  Whiffed on that it’s going to be Watt.

I really don’t like Fairley for the Lions, I hope Rick Gosselin is wrong.

Vikings go Ponder in a massive reach.

Lions on the clock.  Per my board I go Robert Quinn or Anthony Costanzo.  Lions could be talking trade right now.

Pick is in.  Nick Fairley is the pick, and I am not a big fan.  I just don’t think this offers a lot of value with Suh, Williams and Hill already in place.  We’ll see though, Mayhew and Schwartz have earned the benefit of the doubt.
