Lockout Over?

ESPN 1250 radio in Milwaukee aired an announcement that the league and the NFLPA have reached a tentative agreement on a new CBA and players could report as early as next week for offseason training programs.  Profootballtalk.com reported a similar rumor tonight, but remained skeptical.

Later PFT received word that the lockout is still on, but an agreement in principal means that it is not finalized and the lockout would be in place until the deal is final.  So there are a few ways to look at it.  There very well could be an agreement in place, and it’s semantics that allow a denial until a more appropriate formal announcement can be made.  Or, the lockout is on, but there is enough progress being made that somebody felt a deal was imminent.  Or, there could be nothing going on and somebody jumped the gun thinking they had the scoop of a lifetime.
