Lions DE Hilee Taylor Decides To Retire

Defensive end Hilee Taylor, who just joined the Lions over the past weekend, has decided to retire.

Defensive end Hilee Taylor, claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions during the weekend, won’t be reporting to camp anytime soon. “Hilee made a personal decision to pursue other opportunities beyond football and start a new chapter in his life,” Taylor’s agent, Kevin Omell, wrote in an e-mail to the Free Press. The Lions claimed Taylor off waivers from the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. When the backup failed to report, they placed him on the reserve/did not report list. Taylor, 25, played in 16 games as a backup in 2008-09 and spent last year on injured reserve.
