Playoffs Baby

The Detroit Lions captured their first playoff berth since 1999 behind a completely dominant performance against the Chargers.  I have been critical of the Lions’ performances several times this season because they were capable of playing so much better.  Today they did.

The offense was unpredictable and kept the Chargers defense on their heels all game.  There were no stupid and costly penalties derailing drives.  The tackling was crisp and when the time came to slam the door the defense came up with a huge 4th down stop and later a pick by Chris Houston.

The Lions, their fans and the whole state of Michigan deserved this performance and it’s only fitting that it came on Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas Lions fans, see you in the playoffs.

It’s been a long time coming, Thank God Matt Millen is gone, I just hope they don’t play New Orleans first.
