Lions Want to Bring CB Eric Wright Back

The Lions want cornerback Eric Wright back and met Saturday with his agent, Tony Fleming, though no contract proposals were exchanged according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Wright has said he wants to remain in Detroit, too, but after signing a one-year deal last summer, the 26-year-old cornerback is looking for something a little more long term.

“He had a solid season for us,” Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said Friday. “He had good production; 74 tackles, four picks, 16 (pass breakups), started 16, which we haven’t had a lot of corners do that the last few years. So we were happy with his performance. He can obviously perform better. Most of our guys can. But we’re also going to work on trying to get him back.”
