Best Cleared For Workouts

Jahvid Best has been cleared by doctors to start working out with the Lions. Best missed the last ten games of the 2011 season due to a concussion. The star running back had had problems with concussions date back to his days in collage at California. Small for a NFL running back at 5’9”and 190 pounds teams had concerns about Best being able to hold up to the pounding of an NFL season.

Best will be able to take part in the Detroit’s OTAs, minicamps and training camp. OTAs start in April.  While Best hasn’t been cleared to return to football yet, the Lions would be “shocked” if Best isn’t able to fully participate in the off season programs.

Detroit drafted Best in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Best in two years has rushed for 945 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also has three receiving touchdowns.
