Week 2 of the preseason is right around the corner. The Lions will be visiting FirstEnergy stadium on Thursday to play the Cleveland Browns.
In week one of the preseason, the Lions played against the Jets. The Lions defeated the Jets 26-17. The defensive line looked good out on the field last Friday. Ezekiel Ansah had an interception for a touchdown. Cornerbacks may need some adjustments though. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez had 13 attempts and 10 completions, recording 125 yards and a touchdown. Only playing in the first half of the game, that’s pretty good. The Lions cornerbacks allowed Sanchez to do some work. That is definitely something they need to work on for the upcoming game. The Lions offense did decent too, recording 2 touchdowns and 4 field goals. The Lions as a team did their job.
Last week, the Browns defeated the St. Louis Rams, 27-19. Quarterbacks Brandon Weeden and Brian Hoyer, both put up a touchdown recording 100+ yards. Lions cornerbacks definitely have a challenge here and need to step up. Cleveland Browns put up a total of 3 touchdowns and 2 field goals.
Overall, this should be a close game. If the Lions cornerbacks shut down the receivers, the Lions will have their second win in the preseason.
