The Lions followed their 2011 playoff run with a dismal 2012 showing, going 4-12 and suffering a few excruciating losses, including Andrew Luck’s touchdown on the final play of the game and Jim Schwartz’s infamous challenge flag on Thanksgiving day. Despite that, Lions fans remain excited for the 2013 season, as ticket prices on the secondary market remain just as high as they were last season.
With an average ticket price of $145.07, the Lions are in the bottom half of the league in terms of priciest tickets, but that figure is 5.87% above the previous year’s number. The most expensive game is this year’s Thanksgiving match-up with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The average ticket price is $187 and you can get in the door for as low as $80. A close second is their match-up against Dallas a month before, with an average ticket price of $172 and a get-in price of $78.
On the other side of the spectrum, fans can find cheap Lions tickets aplenty as four games have a get-in price of $40 or less, including the home opener against Minnesota. For only $108, you can grab a ticket to see two 2012 playoff teams in the Vikings and Bengals, along with the season home finale against the Giants. That $108 total is cheaper than any ticket for all Packers and Bears home games.
If Stafford and Johnson can continue their history-making connection and the Lions pull out some 4th quarter victories, Lions fans could be witnesses to a fun and entertaining season, at a very low cost.
