Lions cornerback Rashean Mathis is walking away from the NFL, as he has announced his retirement from the Lions and the NFL.
The 35-year-old played the last three seasons with the Lions after playing from 2003 to 2012 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he reached the Pro Bowl in 2006.
He was a second-round pick of the Jaguars in 2003.
