A Look at the 2017 Lions Schedule with a Glance at the Good and the Bad

The 2017 NFL Schedule is out, and here’s a look at the Lions slate for the upcoming season, with the home games in bold:

Sep. 10 Arizona Cardinals 1:00 PM

Sep. 18 at New York Giants (Mon) 8:30 PM

Sep. 24 Atlanta Falcons 1:00 PM

Oct. 1 at Minnesota Vikings 1:00 PM

Oct. 8 Carolina Panthers 1:00 PM

Oct. 15 at New Orleans Saints 1:00 PM

Oct. 22 BYE

Oct. 29 Pittsburgh Steelers * 8:30 PM

Nov. 6 at Green Bay Packers (Mon) 8:30 PM

Nov. 12 Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM

Nov. 19 at Chicago Bears 1:00 PM

Nov. 23 Minnesota Vikings (Thu) 12:30 PM

Dec. 3 at Baltimore Ravens 1:00 PM

Dec. 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00 PM

Dec. 16 Chicago Bears (Sat) 4:30 PM

Dec. 24 at Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 PM

Dec. 31 Green Bay Packers 1:00 PM

What’s Good about this Schedule: Two of the first three and three of the first five at home for the Lions, as they will look to get off to a quick start opening day vs the Cardinals and then with games two weeks later against the Falcons, two NFC teams also looking to make a playoff push.

What’s Bad about this Schedule: From November 19th to December 10th the team will play three of four on the road, with the only break a mid-week game on Thanksgiving Thursday against the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field.
