Lions Expected To Slap WR Kenny Golladay with the Franchise Tag

The Lions will have a tough decision to make this offseason about wide out Kenny Golladay, and NFL insider Jason La Canfora says he’s expecting the Lions to place the franchise tag on the 27-year-old.

Golladay in four seasons with the Lions has 21 touchdowns with 183 pass receptions for 3068 yards.

The receiver is a top 10 free agent should he hit the market, but the Lions after already moving quarterback Matthew Stafford want to keep Golladay around.

It was a tough season health wise for Golladay, as he played in just five games due to injury, making 20 catches for 338 yards and two scores.

The 27-year-old missed a majority of the season after he strained a hip flexor muscle in a November 1st loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

“I want to be here, like the city, like what’s going on,” Golladay said in December.

If the Lions do place the franchise tag on the receiver, it would cost Detroit about $16 million for the 2021 season.
