The Lions will open training camp to the public at their headquarters in Allen Park for a second-straight year. The general public is invited to attend Lions training camp July 29, August 1 and August 4-5. Access will be limited to the first 700 fans on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Lions are reportedly interested in acquiring quarterback Chris Simms from Tampa Bay. Other teams are interested in Simms as well, including the Cowboys and Bears. After losing the starting job with a life threatening spleen injury in 2006, Simms sat out all of last year and is fifth on the Bucs’ depth chart.
