Lions Lock Up Free Agent Dwight Smith

The Lions signed free-agent safety Dwight Smith to a two-year, $5-millon contract Wednesday.  Smith is a Detroit native, having played his high school football at Detroit Central.  He’s a seven-year veteran who played the past two seasons in Minnesota.
