Rudi Welcomed with Open Arms (and Stolen Bags?)

Rudi Johnson will be a great addition to the Lions commitment to run the ball. If healthy, he will be a physical, downhill runner who brings along with him the ‘Pound the Rock’ mentality that Marinelli has been preaching. The Lions are hoping that he can stay healthy and that it will give them a great 1-2 combination in the backfield.

However, his first day in Detroit didn’t come without a surprise. As reported by, while Rudi was in Matt Millen’s office signing his contract, his personal bags were ‘stolen’ by Tatum Bell, which security cameras confirmed. He then dropped them off at a friends house who said she hasn’t seen him before that in months.

This apparently was after Bell had met with Johnson earlier in the day Monday, showing him the city and discussing the team. Apparently Bell didn’t see the writing on the wall, and when he did realize what was going on, he went into the facility to pull off the heist.

If this is true, it will go down as one of the most bizarre, ridiculous, child-like behaviors shown by any professional athelete in sports history. Not to mention, it will be most likely the last time Tatum will ever step foot in a professional football facility. However, all is not lost.

I heard that Mike Vick is looking for a running back.

This preseason I was inspired but after the beating by atlanta I am very discourged to the simple fact that the lions are going to be below average again this season.
