Orlovsky Wants to Be Back w/ the Lions in 2009

While the Lions will be on the lookout for a QB this offseason, one QB that was around in 2008 wants to be back in 09. Today’s Connecticut Post has a story on QB Dan Orlovsky, and he says that he would have no problem coming back to the Motor City. Here is a portion of the feature.

One thing quarterback Dan Orlovsky hopes to make known to the Lions organization is his feelings. Despite everything that happened this season, he wants to come back to Detroit and turn things around. “There’s two reasons really why I want to go back,” the former Shelton High star said. “I want to be part of change, like I was at UConn. I want to be able to be part of something that I can hang my hat on when I’m 50. And I want to play with (receiver) Calvin (Johnson), so we’ll see.”

“They have a pretty good idea where my mind is, my heart is, but I haven’t said those exact words to them. I’m sure once contract talks get started, I’ll have the opportunity to talk to them. People know I want to be back there, but you have to be wanted also. I’m going to do what’s best for me and my family and for my career, so a lot of thought will go into it, but I want the opportunity.”
