USA Today reports about the suspenion and fine for Lions President Tom Lewand:
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell issued a 30-day suspension and $100,000 fine to Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand on Friday, ESPN reported. The penalty under the league’s personal-conduct policy comes after Lewand pleaded guilty to impaired driving earlier this month. This is the first time Goodell has applied the conduct policy to an executive. Lewand, who has said he is seeking treatment, had said he was expecting discipline from Goodell. Police said Lewand had a .21 blood-alcohol level when they arrested him in Michigan on June 25.
