Patriots-Lions Second Quarter Thoughts

* Lions scoring drive – 11 plays, 71 yards in five minutes. Great drive as they get the lead.

* Great kick coverage on Brandon Tate stops the Pats on the kickoff after the score.

* Johnson’s 32nd career TD catch. Ties him with Cloyce Box for most in first four seasons as Lions receiver.

* Lions D getting to Brady, and the crowd is into it, big stop here for the Lions if they can get it.

* Hill doing a good job getting out of pressure all day, makes a big play to convert a third and two to move the chains.

* Great reach by Williams gives them the first down, what a great play to reach even though it was good coverage…nevermind, the Lions are short, but really should go for it.

* Hill with the QB sneak, good call and it’s a first down.

* Morris gets in from the one inch line, and the Lions are up 11 with 5:58 to play in the first half. Drive: 13 plays, 63 yards in 6:24.

* Again good coverage for the Lions kick team, as they stop Tate at the 16-yard line.

* Crowd into the game, but can’t help as Green-Ellis shows some toughness as Pats jump back in the game with a TD run to make it 14-10.

* Great play by Hill to escape pressure to get a ball down the field to get it to Nate Burleson for a shot at a 47-yard field goal.

* Field goal GOOD – Lions up 17-10 at half.
