Can Calvin Johnson Be Even Better in 2012?

It remains to be seen just how much better Calvin Johnson can get, but according to receiver Nate Burleson, Megatron is going to be even better in 2012 than he was in 2011.

In the spirit of the coming Olympic Games, guess who’s stronger and faster? Before the Lions broke minicamp earlier this month, a reporter asked receiver Nate Burleson to name a teammate who had a standout spring or surprised him in any way. Burleson’s answer, without much hesitation: Calvin Johnson. “I know it sounds corny,” Burleson said. “You wouldn’t think a guy like that could come back and get better, but he does.” Johnson emerged as the NFL’s most dominant receiver last year. He set career highs with 96 catches for a league-leading 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns; he finished the year with three 200-yard receiving games in the last four weeks, including the playoffs; and he led the Lions to the postseason.
