Lazor Does About Face; Spurns Lions To Go To Miami To Be OC

Bill Lazor

The Lions felt they had a new offensive coordinator for new coach Jim Caldwell, but it turns out the search will continue.

Ed Werder of ESPN reported on Tuesday they had come to terms with Eagles quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor to be their new OC, but Lazor has spurned the Lions to go to Miami.

Lazor interviewed for the Miami job last Wednesday.

After the Dolphins lost out to the Giants for ex-Packers QBs coach Ben McAdoo on Tuesday, they turned their attention to Lazor.

The 41-year-old spent one season in Philadelphia and drew high praise for his work with Nick Foles. The Dolphins hope Lazor can work similar magic with Ryan Tannehill.

For now, the Lions will look elsewhere for another leader of the offense.
