Lionsgab Draft Blog Day 1

Stay here for non-spoiler coverage of the 2014 NFL Draft:

THe Vikings trade back up for Bridgewater and the worst team in the division has another new quarterback.

I really think the Packers may have gone Clinton-Dix as a reaction to the Lions taking Ebron.

Watch for Marquise Lee here to the Packers, the Packers lost a couple weapons and Thompson loves receivers.

I think Kyle Fuller is a great pick for the Bears, he’s a physical guy and has above average speed.  He’ll learn on the job from the veterans there.  That terrible defense just got a little better.

The Rams just got a lot scarier with Aaron Donald, they have the makings of the best defensive line in the league now.

Ebron will become the Lions’ Jimmy Graham type player.  He’s a tight end, but the Lions will use him in the slot quite a bit.  He is a huge target that will make teams pay for doubling Calvin Johnson.

Ebron to the Lions!! I love it.

Lions pick is in and they made it quickly, no trade talk there.

No trade for the Lions, Vikings take Barr.

I’m not a big Taylor Lewan fan, and that’s a name that keeps coming up for the Lions.

More trade action and another Lions’ target off the board as Justin Gilbert is gone.

Bad news for the Lions, Evans off the board to the Bucs.  He was my favorite player for the Lions.

Lions’ draft room on pins and needles here, all three teams in front are in play for Evans.

Matthews was my favorite tackle in the Draft.

Mack to Oakland, Matthews to Atlanta.  This next pick is a likely spot for Evans.

Atlanta won’t be a spot for Evans, Bucs could be the destination if the Lions don’t go up.

Pick is in, Mack won’t get past Atlanta anyhow.

This is the most likely trade up spot for the Lions.  Raiders willing to do below value deal.

Bills are coming up for Watkins I think.  Costly trade there, a first next year and a 4th.  Let’s them keep all picks this year, but they are gambling that he’s going to help them make the playoffs.

Jags take Blake Bortles at 3 and the WRs keep falling for the Lions.

Pick is in at 2, no trade.  OT Greg Robinson.

The only trade rumor I’m believing right now is Atlanta to 3 for Mack.

I’m led to believe the Rams won’t be trading this pick, Lions need to hope that it’s Greg Robinson.

Clowney off the board first, nothing unexpected there.  I still think if he dropped past 2, the Lions would have moved on him.
