The Lions continue to add beef to the trenches as they select Graham Glasgow at the end of the 3rd round. Double G is a larger-than-usual center prospect.
Despite his 6’6″ frame, Glasgow stays low out of his stance and plays with good leverage. He has the athleticism to pull and hit moving targets when he does. He’s a tough player and he has the intangibles that are so important for the center position in the NFL. He has strong legs which help him drive block as well as anchor against the bull rush. He still struggles at times against the bull rush due to his height, but he should be able to improve with NFL coaching.
Like the Lions’ previous 2 picks, his leadership draws praise and his teammates love him. They are all great locker room guys. Glasgow can’t be mentioned without his off the field issues coming up, but all evidence is he put them behind him and everybody praised how well he learned from them.
This pick obviously puts the future of Travis Swanson in doubt, but both players can play guard as well.
